Video: Ichung’wah Open to Working With Gachagua Again if Ruto Calls Him
National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has signaled a willingness to work again with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, despite their ongoing political differences.
The two leaders have recently been at odds, particularly following Gachagua’s impeachment, which he has partly blamed on allies of President William Ruto, including Ichung’wah.
In a video interview with a local media outlet, Ichung’wah downplayed the tension, stating that he holds no personal grudge against Gachagua.
He emphasized that political disagreements should not be confused with personal animosity, noting that leadership often requires flexibility and cooperation for the sake of national unity.

Ichung’wah further explained that should President Ruto choose to re-engage Gachagua in government or political affairs, he would respect that decision and continue working alongside him.
According to the Kikuyu MP, loyalty to the president and commitment to service take precedence over individual differences.
Gachagua, on his part, has been critical of Ichung’wah, accusing him of betraying the Mt. Kenya region by allegedly supporting his ouster.
However, Ichung’wah’s latest remarks suggest a more conciliatory tone, raising the possibility of renewed political cooperation.
The developments highlight the fluid nature of Kenyan politics, where alliances can shift depending on broader strategic interests.
