Kipchoge Receives 159th and Final Limited Edition Isuzu D-Max in Historic Tribute
NAIROBI, Kenya — Two-time Olympic marathon champion and athletics icon Eliud Kipchoge officially received the 159th and final unit of the Kipchoge 1:59 Limited Edition Isuzu D-Max from Isuzu East Africa, bringing a symbolic vehicle production run to an emotional conclusion.
The custom pickup line was originally conceptualized to commemorate Kipchoge’s historic 2019 achievement in Vienna, where he became the first human to run a marathon distance in under two hours, clocking 1:59:40.
To honor the feat, Isuzu East Africa commissioned a strictly limited run of 159 vehicles. Each vehicle features custom details, including Kipchoge’s signature, distinctive styling elements, and unique serialized branding celebrating his “No Human Is Limited” philosophy.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, an elated Kipchoge reflected on the deep partnership and shared values that birthed the project.

“It’s a joy to receive the 159th and final Kipchoge 1:59 Limited Edition D-Max from my Isuzu East Africa family,” Kipchoge expressed. “This is the last of only 159 units built, each one carrying my name, my signature, but most importantly, my story about pushing limits.”
The marathon legend emphasized that the vehicle lineup represents a broader community effort spanning far beyond his personal athletic milestones.
“From a Vienna morning to 159 vehicles on Kenyan roads, this is truly a story of 159 owners with a shared belief in what’s possible when you commit and trust the process,” he added.
Isuzu East Africa highlighted that the completion of the 159-unit run marks a milestone in local automotive history, as the project was the first time a regional auto assembler named a vehicle model after a sporting personality.
With the final vehicle now in the hands of the man who inspired it, a legendary moment from the Vienna running track has officially come full circle on Kenyan roads.
