Siyaya! Orengo Defiant After Vehicle Torched in Migori Chaos
Siaya Governor James Orengo has struck a defiant tone following a violent encounter in Migori County that left his personal vehicle riddled with bullet holes and set ablaze in Awendo town.
The veteran politician and lawyer took to his social media platforms to address the incident, strongly condemning the attackers while praising the local residents who had earlier gathered to receive his delegation.
Despite the terrifying ordeal, Orengo maintained that the perpetrators failed in their attempt to silence him or disrupt his political engagements in the region.
“They swore we’d never step foot in Migori. They failed. Thank you, Migori, for standing with us!” Orengo declared in a public message shortly after the violence escalated.

Details of the incident indicate that armed goons ambushed the Governor’s convoy in Awendo, firing live rounds into his vehicle before setting it on fire in what appeared to be a coordinated attempt to block his entry into the area. Orengo, however, confirmed that he escaped unharmed, attributing his safety to swift situational awareness.
“To the cowards who sprayed live bullets into my car and torched it in Awendo to hide your crimes: your desperate violence only proves your fear,” Orengo stated. “You thought you eliminated me, but I am always steps ahead. You can’t burn down a movement, and you will never intimidate me. Unbwogable!”
The attack has drawn sharp criticism from regional leaders, who are calling for immediate security investigations and the arrest of the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, Orengo’s bold declaration has energized his supporters across the Nyanza region, reinforcing his reputation as an unyielding figure in Kenyan politics.
Local authorities in Migori County have launched an investigation into the gunfire and arson, promising to bring the culprits to book.
