A fresh political storm is brewing after Kimani Ichung’wah made explosive bribery allegations against former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, claiming he was offered millions to stay silent on an alleged scandal.
Speaking during an interview on Obinna’s show, the National Assembly Majority Leader alleged that Gachagua, through a close aide, attempted to bribe him with KSh 5 million.
According to Ichung’wah, the money was delivered in a bag with the intention of preventing him from exposing what he described as the misappropriation of funds meant for student meals.

Ichung’wah claimed he rejected the offer and chose instead to speak out, insisting that leaders must be held accountable for the management of public resources.
He further suggested that the alleged misuse of funds had negatively impacted vulnerable students who rely on government-supported feeding programs.
The claims have not yet been independently verified, and Gachagua has not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of publication.
However, the remarks have already triggered heated reactions across the political divide, with some leaders calling for investigations while others dismissed the claims as politically motivated.
If substantiated, the allegations could deepen tensions within Kenya’s political landscape and raise fresh concerns over integrity in public office.
