Orange Democratic Party (ODM) leader Hon. Dr. Oburu Odinga was on Sunday left visibly agitated during a party engagement in Kakamega County after what appeared to be a mix-up over parallel meetings, according to a video circulating online.
In the clip, Dr. Oburu is seen addressing supporters shortly after realizing that he had been taken to the wrong venue. Reports indicate that he had been invited to Mabole area in Butere Sub-county, allegedly by former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, and informed that the visit was for a brief informal engagement over tea.

However, upon arrival, Dr. Oburu reportedly encountered a group of attendees who identified themselves as delegates, an unexpected development that appeared to irritate him.
Moments later, the ODM leader left the venue and proceeded to Golf Hotel, Kakamega, where another faction said to be the officially recognized “Linda” group was holding its meeting.
While speaking at Golf Hotel, Dr. Oburu openly expressed his frustration over the incident and called on Oparanya to explain the confusion.
Interestingly, according to those present, Oparanya was not available to respond immediately and was not seen at either venue following the incident.
The episode has sparked fresh debate within ODM ranks, with observers pointing to growing coordination challenges as the party navigates internal realignments in the post-Raila Odinga era.
