Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has directed a stern message to President William Ruto, urging him to cease targeting former President Uhuru Kenyatta and instead prepare to face his real political rivals ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Addressing supporters during a public engagement, the veteran opposition figure stated that Kenyatta will not be on the ballot in the upcoming election, clarifying that the ultimate contest will be directly between the current head of state and himself.
Musyoka criticized the ruling administration’s continued public attacks on the retired president, dismissing claims that Kenyatta is orchestrating or financing opposition activities.
He emphasized that focusing on Kenyatta is a distraction from the main political arena, where the opposition intends to challenge the government on its policy record, economic management, and governance.
According to the former Vice President, the ruling coalition must stop invoking the former head of state as a scapegoat and face its active political competitors head-on.
Turning his focus to electoral integrity, Musyoka rallied youth voters, particularly the Gen Z movement, calling on them to play a central role in safeguarding the democratic process.
He urged the youth to mobilize and station themselves at every polling center nationwide to monitor voting, counting, and the transmission of results.
Asserting that the opposition will no longer tolerate any form of electoral malpractice, Musyoka insisted that rigorous vigilance at every station is essential to guarantee a free, fair, and transparent outcome.
His remarks reflect a growing strategy among opposition leaders to galvanize young voters, secure election day operations, and establish a clear line of political contestation as alliances prepare for the 2027 campaign.
