NAIROBI, Kenya — Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has stepped up to anchor the political opposition, filling a temporary vacuum left by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who recently jetted out to England.
Accompanied by his wife, Pastor Dorcas Gachagua, the former DP is in London for strategic meetings, leaving Kalonzo to lead the charge against the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Wasting no time, Kalonzo—alongside former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi—launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto during a fiery Sunday address outside the Deliverance Church in Ruai.
The leaders slammed the president over the relentless cost of living and alleged political intolerance, after church leadership barred them from addressing the congregation inside.
Kalonzo accused President Ruto of being obsessed with personal vendettas rather than governance.

“Every time he wakes up, all he sees is Kalonzo,” the Wiper leader claimed. “Instead of addressing the rising fuel prices, his job is to insult Kalonzo.”
The former Vice President questioned why Kenyans are still paying up to KSh 240 per liter for fuel despite the state’s government-to-government (G2G) importation framework, boldly alleging that public funds are being siphoned off.
Turning to the Gen Z protests, Kalonzo rejected Ruto’s recent KSh 3 million compensation offers for victims, demanding instead the prosecution of rogue police officers.
Meanwhile, Justin Muturi painted Ruto as a “one-term president” and declared that the opposition is actively unifying behind a single candidate for the 2027 General Election.
Muturi also issued a stern warning regarding electoral integrity, highlighting the expiration of the IEBC’s contract with technology provider Smartmatic.
Backed by Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo, who urged Kenyans to use the ballot as their ultimate weapon, the newly aligned opposition leaders vowed to maintain a united front to send the current administration home.
