KUCCPS Reopens Applications for KMTC Courses Ahead of September Intake

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened applications for pre-service courses at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) for the September 2026 intake.

The reopening gives candidates who missed the previous window, were unplaced, or wish to join the healthcare sector a second chance to submit their applications through the KUCCPS student portal.

KMTC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kelly Oluoch welcomed the placement service’s decision, emphasizing that it will expand access for qualified youth nationwide.

“Each student we train adds to the health workforce needed to serve communities across the country. We encourage eligible applicants to review the available courses and apply while the vacancies are still open,” Dr. Oluoch said.

Alongside pre-service applications, admission for Higher Diploma and upgrading programmes remains open directly via the KMTC admissions portal for healthcare professionals looking to advance their technical skills.

How to Apply via KUCCPS Portal

1. Access the Portal: Visit the official student portal at students.kuccps.net.
2. Log In: Enter your KCSE Index Number, Examination Year, and Password (use your Birth Certificate Number or KCPE Index Number as the initial password).
3. Select Courses: Navigate to the KMTC Programmes tab to view available diploma and certificate courses showing open vacancies. Verify that you meet the minimum entry cluster requirements for your desired programme.
4. Submit Application: Click Application/Revision, enter the program codes in order of priority, and follow the system prompts to complete the process. First-time applicants will pay a processing fee of Ksh 1,500 through the provided eCitizen payment gateway.

Applicants must verify all entry prerequisites and check official KUCCPS and KMTC channels for deadlines and official communications.
