Orengo Breaks Silence After Chaotic Homa Bay Visit, Slams Local Leadership
HOMA BAY, KENYA –
Siaya County Governor, His Excellency James Orengo, has officially responded following widespread online videos showing chaotic scenes during his recent impromptu tour of neighboring Homa Bay County.
The veteran politician and close allies confirmed that the tense reception occurred in a region fiercely loyal to the Linda Ground political faction—a movement heavily associated with Orengo’s grassroots political positioning.
Despite the underlying hostility, Orengo maintained his composure, steering the narrative away from the scuffles and focusing strictly on the economic grievances of local residents.
Taking to his official channels, Governor Orengo expressed his gratitude to the residents of Kabondo Kasipul and Kasipul constituencies, while simultaneously launching a scathing attack on the state of governance and infrastructure in Homa Bay.

“The energy was incredible, but the cries of our people were loud and clear,” Orengo stated. “While leadership should be about delivering dignity to the doorstep of every citizen, Homa Bay is unfortunately being left behind.”
The Siaya Governor highlighted several stalled projects, noting that key infrastructure like the Ringa-Atemo and Kakelo-Kokwanyo roads remain completely abandoned.
He also took issue with the national government’s Social Health Authority (SHA) rollout, claiming it has crippled services at the Rachuonyo District Hospital.
Orengo drew a sharp contrast between Homa Bay and his own administration in Siaya, where he emphasized a reliance on county funds to construct self-sustaining legacy projects rather than banking on empty promises from the state.
He demanded immediate accountability for unfulfilled national government pledges, including the skyrocketing cost of living and the elusive “Last Mile” power connectivity that leaves villages in darkness.
Vowing to push forward, Orengo concluded, “The journey to fix our region and our nation continues. Erokamano, Kasipul Kabondo!”
