Nairobi County Governor, Johnson Sakaja denies sponsoring goons in Nairobi.

Speaking at City Hall, flanked by a few members allied to him, Sakaja asserted that he has been in Mombasa with his cabinet for the past week and only returned this morning, making it impossible for him to have orchestrated the violence.

Governor Sakaja called on the police to thoroughly investigate the incident and apprehend those responsible for mobilizing the goons.

“I urge the police to look into how these goons were organized and to bring anyone involved to justice,” Sakaja stated.

He emphasized his commitment to transparent and ethical politics, insisting that he does not engage in such tactics against Kenyans.

The allegations against Sakaja surfaced just days after businesses in Nairobi were looted during what were initially peaceful demonstrations.

The protests, led by Generation Z youths, sought to address various social and economic issues but turned chaotic following the intervention of the alleged goons.

“I play smart and transparent politics. I have no need to resort to violence or intimidation,” Sakaja reiterated.

He highlighted his administration’s focus on constructive dialogue and solutions, dismissing the accusations as baseless and politically motivated.

Sakaja’s denial comes amid rising tensions in Nairobi, where recent protests have frequently devolved into unrest, causing significant disruption to daily life and economic activities.

The governor’s remarks aimed to reassure the public and stakeholders of his administration’s commitment to maintaining order and addressing grievances through lawful means.

As investigations continue, the spotlight remains on the police to uncover the truth behind the mobilization of the goons and ensure accountability.

The public and business community are eagerly awaiting the outcome, hoping for a resolution that restores confidence and stability in the city.Is this conversation helpful so far?
