Outrage as Protesters Burn Down UDA Party Offices in Wote Over Fuel HikeAngered citizens and political leaders have strongly condemned the torching of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) offices in Wote town, Makueni County, on Monday. The incident occurred during intense national anti-government demonstrations sparked by recent fuel price increases.
Viral videos capturing the ruling party’s regional office engulfed in flames triggered widespread outrage across social media, with many Kenyans terming the destruction “barbaric” and “unacceptable.”
Witnesses reported that crowds of youth barricaded major roads within Wote Township and engaged in running battles with police before targeting and setting the offices ablaze, destroying critical party documents.
The ruling administration has reacted with fury. In a strongly worded press statement, UDA National Organizing Secretary Hon. Eng. Vincent Musyoka fiercely condemned the attack, characterizing it as a calculated act of “political terrorism” rather than a constitutional protest.

“What transpired in Wote was a calculated act of political terrorism, intimidation, and destruction orchestrated by individuals who have chosen violence over democracy,” Musyoka stated.
Musyoka explicitly pointed fingers at local opposition figures, accusing them of sponsoring and inciting local youths under the guise of economic grievances to score cheap political mileage. He urgently called upon security agencies to hunt down and arrest the perpetrators, planners, and financiers of the arson.
Despite the severe provocation, the national organizing secretary urged UDA supporters across Kenya to remain calm and law-abiding. He maintained that the Kenya Kwanza administration would not be deterred from its national development agenda by acts of political blackmail.
