Job Fortune Follows Dramatic Presidential Security Breach in Kilifi
An extraordinary turn of events has left Kenyans talking after a young man who caused a dramatic security scare during President William Ruto’s tour of Kilifi County was reportedly rewarded with employment. Reports indicate that Jeremiah, the man at the center of the breach, has allegedly secured a job at the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA).
The incident unfolded on May 24, 2026, during a Thanksgiving service for Youth Affairs Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs at Mnagoni Primary School in Bamba, Ganze constituency.
In a tense moment that caught the presidential guard flat-footed, Jeremiah managed to breach multiple layers of security and charge onto the podium while the Head of State was making his address.

Armed with a Bible, he clung briefly to the President before alarmed security personnel aggressively tackled and whisked him away.
President Ruto, however, intervened during the melee, instructing his detail, “Wachana na huyu kijana” (leave this young man alone).
Downplaying the scare, Ruto jokingly told the amused crowd that Jeremiah was merely trying his luck, adding that he would “sort him out later.” That promise appears to have materialized into a lucrative position at the KPA.
Major Shake-up in the Presidential Security Detail
While Jeremiah celebrated his sudden stroke of luck, the incident triggered severe repercussions for the President’s elite protection team. Deeming the lapse a “matter of the gravest national concern,” Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja ordered an immediate and sweeping reshuffle of the command structure.
