President William Ruto’s first tour of the Mount Kenya region since the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has sparked widespread public debate, following pointed remarks he made while in Nyeri County.
In a video that has since gone viral, President Ruto addressed residents during a church service at ACK Ruringu, Nyeri, where he firmly dismissed claims of a fallout between him and the Mount Kenya electorate.
Flanked by key regional leaders including Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe and Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, the President appeared keen to reassure the region of his continued political and development focus.
Ruto stated that nothing could separate him from the people of Mount Kenya, emphasizing that the region overwhelmingly supported his 2022 presidential bid.
