Video: Simba Arati Gives Conditions That Must Be Achieved Before ODM Welcomes Back Sifuna
A fresh political storm is brewing within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) after Deputy Party Leader Simba Arati outlined strict conditions that must be met before Senator Edwin Sifuna is welcomed back into the party’s inner circle.
Speaking in a video that has since circulated widely online, Arati made it clear that reconciliation between ODM and Sifuna will not come easily.
He stated that the Nairobi Senator must first “humble himself” and show respect to the party leadership before any talks of reintegration can begin.
Sifuna, who has recently been associated with the “Linda Mwananchi” initiative, has been making significant political waves across the country.

Some analysts have even described his movement as a potential third force in Kenya’s evolving political landscape. However, Arati dismissed the group as a minor faction with limited grassroots influence compared to ODM’s established support base.
According to Arati, ODM cannot be intimidated by what he described as “noise from rallies” lacking clear structure and respect for party leadership. He emphasized that loyalty to the party and its ideals remains non-negotiable.
He further insisted that any leader seeking to work with ODM must recognize and respect senior figures within the party, including veteran politician Oburu Odinga, whom he described as a key pillar of the movement.
Arati also issued a stern warning to Sifuna’s allies, cautioning that continued defiance could lead to further political isolation. He hinted that ODM is prepared to take firm disciplinary measures if what he termed as “disrespectful conduct” persists.
The unfolding standoff signals deepening divisions within ODM, raising questions about unity within one of Kenya’s most influential political parties ahead of future electoral contests.
