Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has resurfaced in Western Kenya just days after a dramatic confrontation at the Senate involving Samburu Governor Lati Lelelit, drawing significant public attention and a massive crowd during his latest visit.
Sifuna, who has been at the center of controversy following accusations that he and other leaders mishandled the governor during an accountability session, appeared unshaken as he toured parts of Bungoma County.
The governor had earlier claimed he was pushed and treated like a criminal instead of being accorded the respect of an elected leader.
The incident sparked debate nationwide, with Lelelit even performing a traditional ritual in Samburu County, a move that further fueled public discourse.
During his visit to Naitiri in Bungoma, Sifuna, accompanied by Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga, was met with an overwhelming استقبال from residents.
Excited locals reportedly blocked his motorcade, chanting and demanding to hear from the outspoken senator. The charged atmosphere forced Sifuna to briefly halt and address the crowd.

In his remarks, Sifuna hinted at an impending political declaration, urging residents to remain alert and ready for what he described as a significant announcement in the coming days.
While he did not go into details, the statement has already sparked speculation within political circles, particularly amid ongoing tensions within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Addressing concerns about internal wrangles in ODM, Sifuna reassured supporters that the situation was under control. He dismissed fears of division within the party, maintaining that leadership was actively handling the issues behind the scenes.
The event underscores Sifuna’s continued influence, particularly in Western Kenya, where his reception suggests a strong grassroots following despite recent controversies.
As political temperatures continue to rise, all eyes will be on his next move and the much-anticipated declaration.
