A political rally in Vihiga County turned dramatic after Edwin Sifuna drew a massive crowd and issued a bold warning to individuals he claimed were planning to disrupt the event.
Sifuna, who has recently faced criticism within Orange Democratic Movement ranks, toured the region alongside prominent leaders including Godfrey Osotsi and Babu Owino.
The leaders were accompanied by a large group of boda boda riders who appeared determined to provide security amid fears of possible chaos.
The tension follows remarks attributed to Samuel Atandi, who had earlier cautioned Sifuna against visiting Luo Nyanza, accusing him of disrespecting party leadership.
At the center of the dispute are comments Sifuna allegedly made about Oburu Odinga, which sparked outrage among a section of party supporters.

Despite the warnings, Sifuna proceeded with his Vihiga tour, where thousands turned up, effectively bringing parts of the county to a standstill. Addressing the energized crowd, he dismissed threats of disruption and openly challenged alleged goons to attempt to interfere with the rally.
“If they are man enough, let them come,” Sifuna declared, drawing cheers from supporters who chanted in solidarity.
During his speech, the senator also criticized William Ruto, urging Vihiga residents not to support his re-election bid in 2027. Sifuna accused the President of failing to fulfill key promises outlined in a 10-point agenda linked to the late Raila Odinga.
The event highlighted growing political tensions within opposition circles as leaders position themselves ahead of the next general election. While no incidents of violence were reported, the heavy presence of supporters and security-conscious riders underscored the charged atmosphere surrounding the rally.
