President William Ruto is currently in China together with Orange democratic Party leader where he is expected to hold meetings. The head of State is attending African head of States meeting which is expected to start tomorrow.
Well, things are not currently good back at home. When he left, only teachers union and Jomo Kenyatta International airport workers were on strike. Both teams were presenting different grievances. Teachers were crying for salary increment and JKIA protesters were rejecting Adani takeover.
Teachers have called off their strike and have been ordered to return to classes. Something that was a sign of relief for Ruto. It seems like the demos pressure is increasing as another group has called a major massive strike.
The civi servants have announced their strike. According to them, the Kenya Kwanza administration has not honoured their CBA. They have issued a seven day notice to government and asked Ruto to intervene. Failure to which, they will down their tools and paralyse all government activities.
This is a headache to President Ruto who has been facing so many protests ranging from youths accountability call to teachers strike. Now, he has to act quickly and save himself from the tension that will come with looming strike.
