President of the Republic of Kenya Dr William Ruto hosted Daniel Francisco Chapo at State House Nairobi, where the two heads of state held bilateral talks aimed at deepening ties between Kenya and Mozambique.
The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in key sectors including trade, agriculture, energy and regional security.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of intra-African trade, aligning their talks with the broader ambitions of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which seeks to boost economic integration across the continent.
President Ruto highlighted Kenya’s strategic position as a regional economic hub, inviting Mozambican investors to explore opportunities in infrastructure, manufacturing, and technology.
He also pointed to Kenya’s expertise in agriculture and digital innovation as areas ripe for collaboration.
On his part, President Chapo expressed Mozambique’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, noting that Kenya’s development model offers valuable lessons.
He underscored the need for African nations to work together in addressing common challenges, including climate change, food security and youth unemployment.

The two leaders also discussed regional peace and stability, particularly in the context of ongoing security concerns in parts of East and Southern Africa.
They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting African-led solutions to conflicts, while promoting unity through regional blocs and partnerships.
The visit signals a growing trend of African nations seeking to solidify partnerships within the continent, reducing reliance on external actors while fostering sustainable development.
