After weeks of heightened political debate and growing speculation over the country’s future leadership, President William Ruto struck a calm and reflective tone while addressing supporters during a public engagement.
His remarks came at a time when political temperatures are steadily rising ahead of the 2027 General Election, with allies and opponents intensifying early campaigns across different regions.
The Head of State appeared unfazed by mounting criticism from leaders questioning his administration’s performance. Instead, he urged Kenyans to remain focused on development and national unity, saying leadership transitions are ultimately determined by God and the will of the people.
President Ruto stated that he was not losing sleep over whether he would secure a second term in office, insisting that his priority remains delivering on the promises he made to Kenyans during the 2022 campaigns.
According to the President, his administration is concentrating on economic recovery, infrastructure expansion, affordable housing projects, and improving opportunities for young people.
“We will continue serving Kenyans diligently. The issue of elections and what happens in the future we leave to God. If the people decide otherwise, we will move on,” Ruto said, drawing cheers from supporters at the event.

He defended his administration’s economic policies, saying difficult decisions taken over the past three years were necessary to stabilize the economy and reduce dependency on borrowing.
