Defence Cabinet Secretary Honorable Soipan Tuya has elicited mixed reactions online after failing to honor an invitation by the Senate to explain how Kenyans are going through difficulties in applying for military jobs.
Speaking on his experience, Kakamega County Senator Boni Khalwale explained how it is outrageous for Kenyans to be asked to pay over four hundred thousand shillings to qualify for positions.
Mr. Speaker sir. There’s something bothering me from where I come From. Someone came to me with a proposal, a proposal to sell his bull to him for 250,000 shillings in order to add more and pay about 400,000 shillings for his son to be employed to the military.
The allegations from Khalwale has opened a Pandora box that many Kenyans have been keeping for long. It has been claimed before that people are asked to bribe their way to the military.

Some Kenyans at one point were arrested with fake letters asking them to pay something small for the appointment to the military.
Well, the Senate has given Tuya time to explain her self and defend the position of the military on the bribe allegations.
