The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has finally broken its silence following a shocking attack on Godfrey Osotsi in Kisumu, just days after he was reportedly removed from his party position.
In a video that has since gone viral, the Vihiga Senator is seen being confronted and physically assaulted by two unidentified individuals.
The attackers appeared determined, shoving and striking Osotsi as he attempted to shield his face and protect himself from further harm. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, sparking widespread concern among political leaders and the public.
Reacting to the incident, ODM, through its acting Secretary General Catherine Omanyo, strongly condemned the assault and called for immediate action against those responsible.

Omanyo, who also serves as the Busia Woman Representative, described the incident as unacceptable and contrary to democratic values.
“I strongly condemn the assault on Vihiga Senator Hon. Godfrey Osotsi today in Kisumu. The ODM Party condemns all forms of violence and thuggery. Those who planned the attack and those who carried it out must be arrested and prosecuted without delay. We wish Sen. Osotsi a speedy recovery,” read the official statement.
The incident has raised fresh concerns over political intolerance and internal wrangles within the party, especially coming shortly after Osotsi’s reported ouster from his position.
Analysts argue that such developments could point to deeper divisions within ODM as the country edges closer to the 2027 general elections.
Leaders from across the political divide have also begun weighing in, urging authorities to expedite investigations and ensure justice is served.
Meanwhile, Osotsi is said to be recovering, as supporters continue to demand accountability and enhanced security for public officials.
The ODM party now faces increasing pressure to address internal disputes and uphold unity in the wake of the disturbing incident.
