Popular American YouTube streamer Dareen Jason Watkins Jr., widely known as IShowSpeed, has achieved a remarkable milestone during his visit to Kenya after gaining more than 360,000 new subscribers in a single day.
The surge pushed his YouTube channel to an impressive 48 million subscribers, underscoring the global influence of the high-energy content creator.
IShowSpeed is in Kenya as part of his “Speed Does Africa Tour,” a 28-day journey across several African countries. He livestreamed his entire first day in the country, beginning with his arrival at the airport and continuing through visits to multiple locations across Nairobi.

The livestream attracted over 200,000 concurrent viewers, one of the highest real-time viewership figures recorded among YouTubers.
Overwhelmed by the massive turnout of fans who thronged various stops in the city, Speed described Kenya as the most intense and memorable destination on his tour so far.
“We gained 360,000 subscribers and reached 48 million. Kenya, we will never forget you. Kenya is number one right now,” he said during the stream.
During the tour, the streamer visited Upper Hill High School, the Mukuru affordable housing project, the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Kenyatta Market, Uhuru Park, and Nairobi National Park.
At Upper Hill, he met Kenyan javelin star Julius Yego, while in the Central Business District he experienced the Safari Rally atmosphere and sampled Nairobi’s famous matatu culture.
He concluded the day with a helicopter ride over the city, catching a glimpse of the upcoming Talanta Stadium, set to be renamed the Raila Odinga Stadium.
The Kenyan government also welcomed him, with President William Ruto and Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano highlighting Kenya’s rich tourism appeal.
IShowSpeed previously visited several African countries and is expected to continue his tour in destinations including Senegal and Nigeria.
