Sifuna Outlines Strategy to Defeat Ruto in 2027 During Kitale Rally
Nairobi County Senator Honorable Edwin Sifuna has broken his silence on the 2027 political calculus, declaring that President William Ruto can only be defeated if the opposition presents a single, unified candidate.
Speaking at a highly charged political rally in Kitale under the banner of the Linda Mwananchi initiative, the vocal lawmaker addressed hundreds of enthusiastic supporters.
Sifuna was accompanied by a powerful delegation of opposition figures, including Siaya Governor James Orengo, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi.
Addressing the crowd, Sifuna described President Ruto as a formidable and politically astute opponent whose reelection strategy relies heavily on a fragmented opposition.

He warned that entering the 2027 General Election with multiple presidential contenders would guarantee an easy victory for the incumbent.
“The only way to defeat Ruto is by presenting one solid candidate under a united opposition,” Sifuna emphasized, urging rival factions to drop individual ambitions for a common cause.
The senator cautioned that failure to unite would leave the opposition vulnerable to strategic division, handing the Kenya Kwanza administration a second term.
His sentiments were echoed by Governor Orengo and MP Babu Owino, who both called for disciplined coalition-building and mass voter registration ahead of the upcoming polls.
The rally in Trans Nzoia highlights the intensifying early political realignments as the Linda Mwananchi movement gains momentum across the country.
Sifuna’s clear mandate for a single ticket signals growing pressure on opposition figures to forge a cohesive political front well before 2027.
