Video footage capturing the dramatic incident has quickly gone viral, sparking intense conversations across the country. In the clip, a highly motivated young man is seen sprinting through the crowd, completely undeterred by the heavy security presence.
As he reached the podium, the President’s bodyguards and Aide-de-Camp (ADC) acted swiftly, springing into action to intercept and restrain him.
Defusing the escalating tension, President Ruto intervened directly, instructing his elite bodyguards to step down and treat the man gently.
Thanks to the Head of State’s calm demeanor, he was ultimately able to grant the young man an opportunity to speak with him briefly before the security detail escorted him aside.
While the incident ended peacefully, it has sounded alarm bells among protection experts. Security analysts are now calling on the presidential security team to exercise maximum vigilance, noting that this marks a recurring pattern of recent crowd-control lapses at executive functions.
Experts warn that protocols must be urgently tightened to curb future breaches and guarantee the absolute safety of the Head of State during public engagements.
