The President of the republic of Kenya His Excellency William Ruto is currently chairing the joint Parliamentary group meeting between the Orange democratic Party and the United Democratic party.
Speaking at the meeting, the hews of the state made it clear his feelings towards corruption within the parliament. According to him, some members of Parliament have now settled on blackmain and extortion. He did not stop there, the President went further to mention those involved In the syndicate.

According to the President, those people tagging themselves as Chairpersons of welfare Within the committees are the Chief extortionists. They allegedly extort money from people and sometimes the same money doesn’t reach the members.
He continued by claiming that, there is something in the Senate called ” Soko huru” which is being used by members to get money from people and leaders with a promise of passing bills in their favour.
The President mentioned one incident where members received ten million shillings from individuals in order to vote on anti counterfeit bill. Something that is so saddening to say the least. The President has ordered the arrest and prosecution of such individuals promising to stop the activities completely.
