The electorate is growing increasingly impatient with empty political theater. Demands for genuine accountability and tangible community development are rising fast.
During a recent infrastructure fundraiser for Kakrigu School, Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo delivered a sharp directive to regional politicians. She insisted that future leadership bids must be anchored entirely on verifiable track records rather than political propaganda. Calling for an end to public name-calling, Odhiambo urged elected leaders to honor their prior campaign promises and address urgent local needs.
She highlighted the importance of inter-county cooperation for regional growth. Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko and National Treasury official Judith Kamaria joined the MP at the event. Together alongside several local MCAs, they stressed that political unity remains essential for uplifting resident livelihoods across South Nyanza.
Odhiambo also directed a direct warning toward her own party, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). She cautioned party leadership against imposing preferred candidates on the electorate during nominations. According to the lawmaker, voters deserve total democratic freedom to select their preferred representatives without external interference.
