Video: Gladys Wanga Goes After Sifuna Again, Accuses Him Of Snatching This From ODM Party
KISUMU, Kenya — The leadership battle within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has intensified after National Chairperson Gladys Wanga launched a scathing attack on embattled Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, accusing him of “stealing” the party’s intellectual property.
Speaking during an ODM aspirants’ consultative meeting in Kisumu County, the Homa Bay Governor claimed that following the passing of veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga, the party conceptualized the “Linda Ground” initiative.
The slogan was strategically designed to consolidate and protect ODM’s traditional political strongholds.
However, Wanga alleged that Sifuna hijacked the creative concept and cloned it to form his own factional movement, “Linda Mwananchi.”
According to Wanga, this imitation brought immense confusion to supporters, fracturing the party’s grassroots support base.

“We had created the Linda Ground movement to consolidate our support base, but some people came and tried to imitate it with different versions,” Wanga stated.
Consequently, the chairperson announced that ODM has officially dropped the Linda Ground slogan to avoid further brand dilution. She directed all party members and aspirants to strictly focus on marketing the primary ODM brand, its official orange colors, and institutional structures going forward.
This latest clash highlights the deep-seated divisions within Kenya’s largest opposition party. Sifuna, who faces ongoing disciplinary action and a leadership ouster plot by Wanga’s faction, swiftly took to social media to mock the decision, cheekily posting, “Linda ni mjamo” (Linda is one).
As the party navigates a turbulent post-Raila transition under Dr. Oburu Oginga’s temporary guidance, the public fallout between Wanga and Sifuna signals an escalating civil war for the soul and control of the ODM party ahead of the 2027 general election.
