Political temperatures in Mombasa are rising everyday in the central region. It seems like we are already in 2027 political moods despite 3 years of general election.
The man at the center is former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Since his impeachment, he has been keeping the governor the day on toes politically. Things are not going as planned as per the government operatives.
Well, today, police officers had a hard time in Nyeri controlling the crowd that had gathered to listen to Gachagua allies. Chants or Ruto Must go emerged in a chaotic scene forcing Police officers to leave the site briefly.
Seemingly angry Kiambu County senator Karungo Wa Thang’wa asked Police officers to stop being used by politicians in settling political scores.
Senator Karungo was summoned by Nyeri DCI to explain what happened in Limuru where former Deputy President was attacked by youths.
“Skirmishes reported in Nyeri Town on Wednesday after an attempted disruption of a meeting attended by Senators Karungo Wa Thang’wa, John Methu, Joe Nyutu, MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, among other Mt Kenya politicians.Chants of “Ruto Must Go” erupted as local residents alleged that security agents were deployed to disrupt the gathering.” Posted Nyakundi.
