Kenyans have taken to social media to react after two residents from the Rift Valley announced their bold plan to cycle all the way from Eldoret City to Wamunyoro in Nyeri County to visit former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The two, identified as Kiprono and Kimeli, revealed that they will ride bicycles for hundreds of kilometers in a symbolic show of support for Gachagua, who was recently impeached while serving under President William Ruto’s administration.
According to the duo, their journey is meant to send a clear political message and to personally encourage the former Deputy President.
Speaking before embarking on the journey, the two said they believe Gachagua still has a lot to offer the Republic of Kenya despite his impeachment.
They argued that leadership is not defined by positions but by vision and courage, adding that Gachagua stood firm on issues affecting ordinary Kenyans.

What has stirred online debate even more is the fact that the journey originates from the Rift Valley a region widely regarded as President Ruto’s political backyard.
Many Kenyans view the move as a sign that Gachagua’s influence could be spreading beyond Mount Kenya, potentially reshaping the 2027 political landscape.
Social media users have reacted with mixed opinions. While some praised Kiprono and Kimeli for their determination and bravery, others questioned whether the move was purely symbolic or politically motivated.
A section of Kenyans described the cycling plan as a clear indicator that Gachagua still enjoys grassroots support despite recent political setbacks.
Photos and videos of the two cyclists preparing for the long journey have continued to circulate online, fueling further discussion.
As the journey unfolds, many are keenly watching to see how Gachagua will receive them and what message their visit will ultimately send.
