The burial of the late Lugari Member of Parliament, Honorable Cyrus Jirongo, turned into a tense political moment as Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi found himself under intense scrutiny.
Attendees expressed deep dissatisfaction with the ongoing investigations into Jirongo’s untimely death, questioning the clarity and credibility of the official reports.
Speaking at Lumakanda, DAP-Kenya Party leader Honorable Eugene Wamalwa highlighted the growing unease among Kenyans, citing what he called “contradicting statements” from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Deputy Inspector General of Police.
According to Wamalwa, these inconsistencies have left the public confused and worried that the truth behind Jirongo’s death may never be fully revealed.
Wamalwa urged Mudavadi to carry a critical message to President William Ruto, requesting that he ensure his security apparatus conducts a thorough and transparent investigation.

“It is imperative that the family of Honorable Jirongo gets closure,” Wamalwa said, emphasizing that Kenyans deserve a clear account of what transpired on that fateful day.
The plea comes amid growing concerns about political interference and procedural lapses in high-profile investigations.
Citizens attending the funeral expressed frustration that the legacy of Jirongo, a former influential legislator and political strategist, is being overshadowed by confusion and suspicion over the circumstances of his death.
Mudavadi, who has remained relatively quiet on the matter, was visibly confronted by questions from both political leaders and mourners alike, highlighting the mounting pressure on the government to provide answers.
Analysts believe the handling of this investigation could have wider political implications, affecting public confidence in law enforcement and political leadership.
As calls for accountability grow louder, all eyes are now on President Ruto and his security team to ensure that the investigation into Cyrus Jirongo’s death is conducted impartially, providing clarity and justice to the bereaved family and the nation at large.
