Ol Kalou MP Sammy Ngotho Fires Back at CS Murkomen Over Vote Protection Warning
Newly elected Ol Kalou Member of Parliament, Honorable Sammy Ngotho, has sharply criticized Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen over his recent directives warning citizens and opposition teams against staying at polling stations to guard their votes.
CS Murkomen had earlier stated that the responsibility of securing ballots lies strictly with law enforcement officers, instructing voters to leave polling areas immediately after casting their ballots.
“Security Matters Have Overwhelmed You”
Responding directly to the Interior Minister’s statement, the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) lawmaker dismissed Murkomen’s assurances regarding election security.

Ngotho argued that the current security apparatus has failed to gain public trust and expressed firm resolve that citizens will take charge of safeguarding their democratic mandate.
“Murkomen, you say there is no need to guard the votes. Security matters have overwhelmed you. We will protect ourselves and guard our votes, and there is nothing you can do about it. You will follow Ruto and go with him to Sugoi,” stated MP Sammy Ngotho.
Escalating Political Tensions
Ngotho’s defiance underscores growing friction between opposition figures and government officials regarding electoral integrity and police neutrality.
Opposition leaders have repeatedly insisted on vigilantly monitoring polling centers to prevent potential irregularities, while security officials argue that uncontrolled crowds around polling areas pose a threat to public order.
