There was a bit of confusion on who will invite President William Ruto to the podium. This is because of the absence of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who was impeached but reinstated by the courts.
Earlier on, it was reported that Kwale county governor Achami was supposed to welcome the President. However, last minute changes landed on Musalia Mudavadi.
The prime Cabinet Secretary sent the crowd wild after recognizing Professor Kithure Kindiki as the Deputy President elect. Kenyans cheered him and the incoming second in command leaving many questioning court processes. The courts are supposed to rule on the issue next week.
While sitting in Milimani Court, Justice Chacha Mwita ordered the senate decision to be halted until the case was filled by Gachagua and the team was determined. Meaning, Rigathi Gachagua is still designated Deputy President until the court decides otherwise.
