Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua came under immense pressure after his speech in Mount Kenya region on October 11, 2025.
Speaking in Mount Kenya during his tour with other opposition leaders, Gachagua called out Kirinyaga governor Ann Waiguru for allegedly being used by Ruto to divide Mount Kenya region.

While attending a Church service in Kirinyaga County today, seemingly unapologetic Gachagua defended himself. He claimed that a traitor is just a traitor and that has nothing to do with the gender of the person being involved.
He called on Kenyans to be more vigilant on making sure that their leaders are accountable to what they do and should not be swayed by political rhetoric.
I have seen people calling me out for telling some leaders the truth in this region. We are supposed to be truthful to each other. The people in Called out are traitors, they are being used to fight us. Our mount Kenya region must be protected at all cost” said Gachagua at a church service.
