Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has stirred fresh political debate after drawing a massive crowd in Kajiado town, a region widely considered part of President William Ruto’s political stronghold in the Rift Valley.
Photos and videos circulating online show thousands of residents thronging the town to catch a glimpse of the outspoken leader, whose presence reportedly brought business activities to a near standstill.
The unexpected turnout has sparked conversations about shifting political dynamics ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Addressing the crowd, Gachagua reiterated his determination to challenge the Kenya Kwanza administration, declaring that he would not relent until his political agenda is achieved.
He boldly stated that his mission is to send the current government home in 2027, signaling an intensifying political contest.

In a fiery speech, Gachagua also came to the defense of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, criticizing what he termed as sustained attacks against him by leaders aligned with the current administration.
He vowed to defend Uhuru “without fear,” positioning himself as a key ally of the former Head of State.
At the same time, Gachagua took aim at National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, urging him to focus on restoring Parliament’s independence.
He accused Wetang’ula of failing to uphold the integrity of the legislature, claiming that he is operating as an extension of the Executive rather than an impartial leader of the House.

The Kajiado rally marks a significant moment in Gachagua’s political re-emergence, particularly in regions traditionally loyal to President Ruto.
Analysts suggest that such developments could reshape alliances and influence the political landscape as the country inches closer to the next election cycle.
With tensions already rising, Gachagua’s latest move signals a potentially fierce political battle ahead.
