According to Gachagua during an interview with NTV Kenya. He deferred with President William Ruto on an affordable housing project.
He told him the truth and asked him not to force the idea to Kenyans since they were uncomfortable. Instead of the president listening to him, he was termed as someone who was sabotaging government policies and agenda.
“Rigathi Gachagua: The President was accusing me of not going to launch houses. Nikamwambia hii nyumba watu hawataki boss, hawa wananchi ndio wametuajiri kazi. They are not interested.” Gachagua
His consistency in asking questions was his downfall from the administration. Gachagua claimed that he is not a yes man and used to ask several questions on different levels hence his removal was the only way out for them.
