Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir has unveiled key appointments to the Executive Office. This is following the formal establishment of new advisory positions by the Mombasa County Public Service Board in compliance with the law.
The move signals a strategic reorganization of the Governor’s technical team, aimed at strengthening governance, security coordination and creative industry development in the coastal county.
Among the notable appointments is Mr. Maurice Ogeta, who will serve as Advisor, Security Affairs for the County Government of Mombasa.
The Governor’s office described Ogeta as a seasoned security expert with extensive experience spanning local, regional, and international spheres.
His appointment is anchored on years of service and institutional mastery, including his advisory role to Kenya’s late Founding Party Leader, H.E. Raila Odinga, C.G.H.

The Governor emphasized that Ogeta’s deep understanding of national and global security frameworks will be vital in enhancing inter-agency collaboration, crisis response, and community safety strategies in Mombasa.
Also appointed is Ken Ambani, who will take on the role of Advisor on Creative Arts.
A celebrated figure in Kenya’s creative ecosystem. The Governor noted that his guidance will play a pivotal role in reviving Mombasa’s creative industry, unlocking opportunities for artists, empowering youth, and amplifying the sector’s contribution to the county’s economy.
The Governor framed the dual appointments as part of a broader mission to build safer neighborhoods and fuel economic transformation through culture and creativity.
He expressed confidence that the advisors will inject fresh ideas, expand policy impact, and strengthen Mombasa’s position as a regional hub for innovation, art, and security cooperation.
The new team is expected to immediately begin stakeholder engagements and strategic planning as Mombasa accelerates its development agenda in 2026.
