Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has broken his silence following a late-night strategic retreat with key opposition leaders and members of the Linda Mwananchi initiative.

Taking to his official social media platforms, Sifuna posted photographic updates alongside prominent figures including Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka, and Kakamega County Senator Dr. Boni Khalwale.

Reassuring his supporters after hours of intense deliberations, the former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General revealed that the meeting concluded successfully.

Navigating Political Turbulence and Internal Rifts

The strategic session comes against a backdrop of turbulent party dynamics and intense political rivalry between Sifuna and Babu Owino. Both leaders have historically been key figures within the opposition, but friction intensified following Sifuna’s contentious ouster as ODM Secretary General.

Although Babu Owino vehemently defended Sifuna during that internal party battle—labeling the removal as illegal and unconstitutional—cracks subsequently emerged over the strategic vehicle for the Linda Mwananchi movement.

Tensions flared over whether the pressure group should align with the Mwananchi Party or the Ukombozi People’s Party ahead of upcoming political realignments.
