Fire in Meru as Babu Owino Explodes Over Double-Agent Bloggers at ‘Linda Mwanainchi’ Rally
MERU, Kenya — Embakasi East Member of Parliament, Honorable Babu Owino, caused a stir in Meru County after losing his temper and delivering a fiery tongue-lashing to a section of digital influencers and bloggers.
Addressing a charged crowd during a major political tour for the Linda Mwanainchi initiative, the outspoken lawmaker made it clear that he will no longer tolerate duplicity within their movement.
Speaking alongside Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, an visibly angered Babu Owino took to the podium to call out individuals whom he accused of playing double-agent roles.

According to the lawmaker, a specific faction of political bloggers claims to champion the Linda Mwanainchi agenda while secretly executing paid publicity campaigns for the ruling Kenya Kwanza administration.
Exploding with his signature sharp rhetorical style, Babu told the perpetrators to “stop the nonsense” (wacheni ushenzi) and immediately declare where their true loyalties lie.
“You cannot have one foot in Linda Mwanainchi and another foot in Kenya Kwanza,” Babu warned. “Pick a side and stick to it, but stop confusing our supporters with fake, superficial backing.”
The MP emphasized that the movement was formed to protect the ordinary citizen and shield key leaders—including Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna—from internal sabotage.
He cautioned that the Linda Mwanainchi leadership has drawn a firm line in the sand and will ruthlessly purge any hypocrites or political moles seeking to dilute their message going forward.
The dramatic outburst quickly sparked widespread debate across social media platforms, with video clips of the explosive address going viral. While critics condemned the fiery language, loyal supporters praised the legislator for his unapologetic stance in protecting the integrity of the opposition unit ahead of future political contests.
