KISII, KENYA — Nairobi Senator and embattled Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General, Edwin Sifuna, has sent shockwaves through the political landscape after an unexpected guest joined his high-stakes Linda Mwananchi tour in the Gusii region.
A video rapidly circulating online shows Murang’a County Governor, His Excellency Irungu Kang’ata, making a grand, high-spirited appearance alongside Sifuna as the popular movement pitched camp in Keroka Town, Kisii County.
Kang’ata was seen enthusiastically flashing the movement’s signature ‘Wantam’ symbol, cementing his alignment with the political wave sweeping across the country ahead of the 2027 general election.
The stunning crossover comes weeks after Kang’ata publicly ditched the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA), citing the government’s diminishing popularity.

His sudden presence in the Kisii rallies alongside Sifuna has left many Kenyans on social media celebrating the milestone, praising the Nairobi Senator’s formidable political acumen and strategic foresight.
