UDA SG Hassan Omar Dismisses Claims of Withdrawing Development Projects from Ol-Kalou After By-Election Defeat
OL-KALOU, KENYA — United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Hassan Omar has strongly dismissed rumors that the Kenya Kwanza administration intends to withdraw development projects from Ol-Kalou following a heavy defeat in the recent by-election.
The clarification comes in the wake of a landslide victory by the Democratic Congress Party (DCP) candidate, Sammy Kamau Waweru, who floored UDA’s Samuel Nyaga.
The overwhelming win by the opposition party left many Kenyans speculating whether the ruling government would stall or take back the “goodies” and projects initiated in the region during the high-stakes campaign period.
Addressing the media to set the record straight, Honorable Hassan Omar stated that democratic choices made by voters would not be used as a weapon to deny citizens their right to development. He maintained that the Kenya Kwanza government is committed to serving all Kenyans equitably, regardless of their political alignment.

“The government is not going to take back the development infrastructure or any goodies delivered to the people of Ol-Kalou,” Omar asserted. He emphasized that the state would respect the will of the electorate and continue with its transformative agenda for the region.
Going a step further to reassure anxious residents, the Secretary General announced that the government actually plans to roll out additional developmental projects in Ol-Kalou. He reiterated that UDA remains a mature, national party focused on progressive leadership rather than political retaliation.
Political analysts view Omar’s timely statement as an essential damage-control measure aimed at fostering national unity and maintaining the ruling coalition’s broader appeal ahead of future political contests.
