Video: Tough Time For Gachagua As He Is Lectured By His Own Kikuyus Over What He Did
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua finds himself at a political crossroads following his actions in the wake of the Ol-Kalou by-election in Nyandarua County.
Shortly after the candidate running on his Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) ticket was declared the winner of the highly contested seat, Gachagua and his political outfit embarked on an aggressive charm offensive.
However, their sustained political artillery quickly shifted toward key state officers, particularly Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.
In a video circulating widely across online platforms, Gachagua faces intense pushback from a section of Mount Kenya professionals and opinion shapers drawn from his own community.
The leaders have openly castigated the former Deputy President, accusing him of using the mini-poll victory as a launchpad to orchestrate unnecessary political vendettas against Cabinet Secretary Murkomen.

According to the group, Gachagua’s continuous broadsides against the Interior CS are driven by personal squabbles rather than genuine concerns over public interest or service delivery.
Speaking in the video, the Mt. Kenya representatives expressed concern that such personalized attacks risk derailing regional stability and clouding real community priorities.
“The elections in Ol-Kalou are over, and the focus ought to turn toward developmental issues that directly uplift our people,” noted one of the opinion shapers in the video clip.
“Targeting individual Cabinet Secretaries in political rallies is uncalled for and lacks substance.”
The professionals have issued a direct call to action, demanding that Gachagua immediately cease his persistent attacks on Murkomen. They urged the DCP leader to shift his focus toward constructive politics rather than engaging in endless political combat that serves personal agendas over the collective welfare of the region.
