In a video that has stirred internal debate within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo has openly criticized the party’s current leadership under Oburu Odinga, while also clashing with National Chairperson Gladys Wanga over recent disciplinary decisions involving Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
He said he and MP Millie Odhiambo attempted to intervene and persuade Oburu Odinga to reconsider the decision to remove Sifuna from key party roles, arguing that the move risked deepening divisions within ODM.
Amollo further claimed that their efforts were ignored, warning that the fallout could weaken the party ahead of future elections and create parallel camps loyal to different leaders.

His remarks come amid rising tension within ODM, with factions reportedly aligning either with Oburu Odinga’s camp or the Sifuna-aligned bloc, as internal reconciliation efforts face growing uncertainty.
Political observers say the unfolding dispute could shape the party’s cohesion, urging dialogue among leaders to restore unity and focus on policy priorities ahead of the next electoral cycle, with calls for restraint and reconciliation becoming more prominent among senior party figures who fear that prolonged internal wrangles may undermine the opposition’s strength and public confidence in its leadership structure going forward overall.
