Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has fired back at critics mocking his modest village home in Bungoma County.
The debate erupted after photos of his Siaka village residence surfaced online during a recent Western region tour.

Politicians allied to Kenya Kwanza quickly ridiculed the property. They claimed the vocal opposition figure had failed to establish a grand rural estate.

However, the former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General dismissed the criticism with defiance. He insisted he has no regrets about his humble dwelling."I built this house in 2015 using my honest sweat. I am not a flamboyant person, and I am completely happy with what I have," Sifuna stated.

Sifuna drew direct parallels between his lifestyle and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. He noted that real leadership is not measured by ostentatious displays of wealth."Baba himself lived in a modest house for many years before expanding it. Leadership is about serving people, not building palaces to show off," he added.

The Nairobi lawmaker urged voters to judge leaders by their integrity rather than their physical structures.
