Details Emerge of How Uhuru Reacted to Reports of Kalonzo Joining Ruto’s Administration
NAIROBI, Kenya — Fresh details have emerged regarding former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s immediate reaction following widespread rumors that Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka was planning to join President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza administration.
Speculation had mounted after reports surfaced alleging that the former Vice President held a secret meeting with President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi, to negotiate an entry into government.
However, Musyoka swiftly dismissed the claims, reaffirming his firm commitment to remaining in the opposition coalition.
Addressing a gathering of his supporters, the Wiper Democratic Movement leader disclosed that the rumor triggered an urgent phone call from his long-time political ally, Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to Kalonzo, the former Head of State reached out to him immediately after the allegations began circulating to seek clarity and offer stern advice.
Kalonzo revealed that Uhuru cautioned him strongly against crossing over to the Kenya Kwanza camp.

Uhuru reportedly emphasized that Kalonzo possesses a realistic path to winning the presidency in upcoming elections and warned that taking up a role in Ruto’s administration would severely compromise his political career and end his presidential ambitions.
“The former President called me immediately he heard those rumors,” Kalonzo told supporters. He noted that Uhuru urged him to remain steadfast in the opposition, maintaining that joining the executive would derail his long-held vision of leading the nation.
Musyoka assured his supporters that he remains fully focused on his political journey and will not be swayed by rumors or overtures from the ruling alliance. He reiterated that his stance within the united opposition remains unchanged as he continues to prepare for his future political ambitions.
