Defiant Sifuna Storms Mbadi’s Homa Bay Backyard, Sparks Storm With Bold Declaration
SINDO, HOMA BAY — Former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna took his political broadside straight to the home turf of National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, making a explosive declaration in Sindo, Suba South, that threatens to deepen cracks within the opposition landscape.
Flanked by allied leaders under the Linda Mwananchi movement, a defiant Sifuna staged a triumphant entry into Sindo town, drawing energized crowds despite widespread political tension and reported attempts by rival factions to disrupt the tour. Addressing residents at the home base of the Finance Minister, Sifuna pulled no punches over the region’s lagging infrastructure.
Sifuna directed sharp criticisms at Mbadi, questioning how Sindo could remain plagued by heavy dust and neglected road networks while its native son sits at the helm of the country’s exchequer.

He described the situation as unacceptable, taking issue with leaders serving in the broad-based government who trumpet development on national platforms while their own local constituencies remain in visible neglect.
“It is unfortunate that those boasting about broad-based governance preach regional development everywhere else, yet the conditions right at their doorstep remain pathetic,” Sifuna declared, criticizing the government’s service delivery record.
Capping off his fiery address, the vibrant senator dropped a political bombshell—openly declaring his readiness to take up top national leadership and challenge the current political order head-on.
The declaration has drawn sharp reactions across the region, with political analysts warning that attacking a senior Cabinet Secretary in his stronghold while declaring high-stakes presidential ambitions could trigger political hostility and intensify party friction in Nyanza.
