Drama as MP Millie Odhiambo Chases Goons from Rusinga Island Fundraiser
HOMA BAY, KENYA — Chaotic scenes erupted in Suba North, Homa Bay County, after fiery MP Millie Odhiambo stepped in to flush out rowdy goons attempting to disrupt a public fundraiser on Rusinga Island.
The incident unfolded during an otherwise smooth community event, which suddenly turned tense when a section of the crowd began booing speakers and shouting political slogans. The disruptions threatened to paralyze the program, raising security concerns among guests and local residents attending the event.
Refusing to yield to the intimidation, the Suba North lawmaker confronted the rogue youth directly. Video footage circulating online shows an enraged Odhiambo commanding police officers on site to immediately remove the unruly individuals from the venue.

Law enforcement officers acted swiftly, clearing the disruptive group from the perimeter and restoring order, allowing the fundraiser to proceed without further incident.
The confrontation comes amid rising political temperatures in Homa Bay County following recent violence during a “Linda Mwananchi” movement rally.
Figures allied with the Kenya Kwanza administration previously laid blame on the Linda Mwananchi team, alleging they provoked local residents by chanting “one-term” slogans aimed at the presidency.
However, ODM leaders have condemned the recurring deployment of hired goons to disrupt gatherings across the region.
Addressing the crowd after calm was restored, Odhiambo denounced the use of criminal elements to disrupt community projects, warning that violence would not be tolerated in her constituency.
The incident has reignited heated debate over growing political intolerance and security in the Nyanza region as leaders demand accountability for political violence.
