Video: Bold Ruto Goes After Gachagua In Nyeri, Explains What Will Happen In 2027
President William Ruto has launched a strong political response to his former deputy Rigathi Gachagua during a church function held in Nyeri County, a region widely regarded as Gachagua’s political stronghold.
Speaking to congregants and local leaders, Ruto dismissed claims by Gachagua that the Mount Kenya region should reject his re-election bid in 2027.
Gachagua, who hails from Mathira, has in recent months intensified criticism of the President, accusing him of failing to deliver on key promises made to the region during the 2022 General Election.

In a bold and defiant tone, Ruto told residents that his relationship with the people of Nyeri and the larger Mount Kenya region is longstanding and cannot be shaken by political rhetoric.
He emphasized that his ties with the region predate the last election cycle, arguing that development and service delivery—not political noise—will ultimately shape voter decisions.
“Leadership is about action, not empty talk,” Ruto stated, in remarks captured in a video that has since circulated widely online.
The President also took aim at what he termed as “early political campaigns,” warning that attempts to rally the region against him would not succeed.
He assured supporters that his administration remains focused on delivering development projects, promising more frequent visits to the Mount Kenya region to oversee progress.
At the same time, Ruto issued a stern warning to the emerging united opposition, signaling that he would confront political challengers head-on when the appropriate time comes.
As the 2027 election slowly takes shape, the political rivalry between Ruto and Gachagua appears to be intensifying, with Nyeri now emerging as a key battleground in the unfolding contest for influence in the vote-rich Mount Kenya region.
