President William Ruto is currently leading the country in celebrating Mashujaa day celebration in Kwale county, coastal region. In his speech, he fired salvos at his embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who he fired through impeachment. Gachagua is currently in office through a Court order that is expensive to be determined on October 22, 2024.
Speaking in Kwale, Ruto claimed that the country cannot be built by tribalism. By noting people like Mekatili wa Menza, the head of State claimed the heroine did not focus in her village while fighting for liberation. Instead, she fought to her last drop of blood making sure that everyone was safe. He went on to ask Kenyans not to focus on the villages or area they are coming from but rather national unity and cultural diversity.

“My fellow Kenyans, I want you to always be united. Not as a tribe or community but people with national interests. Our heroes fought for the country cumulatively without thinking about where they were coming from. They focused on securing freedom at all cost.” Said Ruto.
This is coming just days after his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua was removed from office for allegedly being tribal and focusing only on Mount Kenya region. His mistake was claiming Kenya was a shareholder Nation where people had shares based on how they voted.
He was also Accused of disobeying his boss Ruto and public attacks on the national intelligence service boss. Well, it is not yet over for him after the courts blocked his removal temporarily.
