Gachagua’s US Getaway: Boat Rides and Golf Carts Set Social Media Ablaze

Former Deputy President His Excellency Geoffrey Rigathi Gachagua has once again set internet trends alight during his extended tour of the United States.

Having jetted out of the country on August 26, Gachagua embarked on a planned sabbatical alongside his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, before stepping into a heavy schedule of diaspora engagements and political strategy sessions.

According to his political handlers, the primary objective of the broad American tour involves strategic meetings with various leaders and diaspora factions, with conversations heavily centered on mapping out momentum for Kenya’s 2027 General Election.

However, before the high-stakes political consultations kick off in full swing, it is the former Deputy President’s leisure activities that have captured the spotlight back home.

Fresh off the viral wave of a video showing him taking a scenic boat ride across a tranquil lake in Seattle, a new photograph of Gachagua cruising effortlessly in a golf cart has sparked widespread reactions online.

Kenyan social media users quickly seized on the images, poking fun at his vibrant holiday mood and debating the symbolic timing of his relaxed public persona.

Commentary has ranged from lighthearted jokes declaring “couple goals” to sharp political assessments regarding his upcoming presidential ambitions.

While many Kenyans online continue to share and react to snapshots of him seemingly enjoying life far removed from the daily heat of local politics, Gachagua’s sabbatical is set to shift gears.

The politician is scheduled to transition from rest mode into official consultative forums across states like Washington and Oregon, kicking off what promises to be a pivotal chapter in his post-deputy presidency political career.
