President William Ruto together With his Deputy Rigathi Gachagwa are currently touring Nyanza region. They are on a four day development tour of the region, where they are launching projects that stalled. They have also been launching new ones in a region that has been considered as opposition area.
Kondele Visit.
Kondele town within Kisumu county has been on record as the hotspot for deadly protests in the country. Their boldness in taking on Police officers during protests has been noted severally, especially while defending Raila. The town which is mostly habited by Luos has been hitting news headlines on various occasions.
Well, on Saturday, August 31. President visited the place flanked by Nyanza leaders he appointed to the cabinet. During His visit, he reminded them of how they stoned him during his last visit. He revealed his plan for them if they repeat.
He claimed that he will report them to Orange democratic Party leader Honerable Raila Odinga and God. In a video seen by this writer, Ruto was welcomed by a huge crowd in Kondele without Odinga.

Broad Based Government.
This is President Ruto’s first visit to Nyanza region since the formation of broad based government. He appointed top ODM party leaders to his cabinet despite resistance form youths who felt shortchanged. Opiyo Wandayi, John Mbadi, Hassan Joho and Oparanya are some of top names that were tapped by Ruto.
General Public Reaction.
Kenyans have taken to their social media platforms to congratulate Ruto for embracing opposition. Some are however not happy with his move citing interference with opposition leadership hence reducing accountability.
